News: Poverty Initiative Supports Installation of Rev. Cathlin Baker
Poverty Initiative members, Colleen, John and Myles Wessel McCoy, Liz Theoharis, Paul Chapman, and Gayle Irvin, attended the installation service of Rev. Cathlin Baker as Senior Pastor of West Tisbury Congregational Church on Martha's Vineyard and brought greetings from Union Theological Seminary and the Poverty Initiative. These Poverty Initiative members also helped to organize and lead a congregational retreat leading up to the installation along with Union Professor Hal Taussig and Union alumnae Susan Cole. Cathlin Baker is one of the founding members of the Poverty Initiative and has been a leader in the movement to end poverty for nearly 20 years. Prior to becoming Pastor at West Tisbury, Cathlin was the Special Assistant to the President at Union Theological Seminary. Read the story in the Vineyard Gazette.
