Event: Who's Barrio? and the Schomburg Collective
The Schomburg Collective, in association with the UTS Latin@ Caucus and the Poverty Initiative, hosted an event at Union Theological Seminary on Thursday May 14th as part of our outreach and education campaign on gentrification issues for the community of Greater Harlem. This event is part of a three part strategy to address the issues of gentrification, one being the outreach and education, one being activism and agitation, the last being the ability to set people up in homes.
The event was held at Union Theological Seminary, with the hopes that future religious leaders will pay heed to this very important issue addressing our communities. The community at large of Greater Harlem (very much hit by this issue) and all interested parties were invited to participate.
The event included a new documentary entitled "Who's Barrio?" by director Ed Morales and a panel, including the director
and various activists and leaders.
